Oklahoma Works Centers to Close to the Public

Oklahoma Works American Job Centers and Specialized Centers will close to the public starting March 17, 2020, in response to CDC recommendations of social distancing. Centers will be closed until further notice. For unemployment claims, the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission is now accepting I.D. verification via email, fax, or mail:

All individuals who file a new claim or who are reopening an existing claim are required to present two forms of identification to verify identity. Failure to present identification within seven days of filing your claim will result in a denial of benefits.

Identification documents must include one valid state or federal government issued photo ID along with one other document that will establish your identity. Examples of state or federal issued photo IDs are an unexpired state issued driver’s license or photo ID, United States Passport, military ID card or Alien Registration card. Secondary documents could be your Social Security Card, school ID card, birth certificate, or a Voter ID card.

If you are a resident of Oklahoma you must provide copies of your identification. This information must be received by the Commission within seven days of filing your claim. If that day falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or holiday, you have until the next working day to provide the proof. This information may be emailed to idverification@oesc.state.ok.us, faxed to 405-962-7524, or mailed to OESC P.O. Box 52006 Oklahoma City, Ok 73152-2006.

If you are not a resident of Oklahoma, you must provide copies of your identification and a screenshot showing you have completed registration for work with the state employment service in your resident state. This information must be received by the Commission within seven days of filing your claim.
